What floors work great for outdoor patios?

Epoxy flooring are a durable option for outdoor patios. They give a strong surface that can withstand shifting weather conditions. Epoxy, with its additional texture, provides a safe and appealing environment for relaxing.

Weather Resistance Is Key

Outdoor patios face sun, rain, and temperature changes that the flooring must endure.

Design Should Fit The Space

Epoxy offers color, texture, and flake options that match modern or rustic patio styles.

UV Exposure Can Be Tricky

Without a UV-resistant topcoat, epoxy may yellow or fade over time.

Epoxy For Outdoor Patios - FAQs

Quick answers
to common questions

Yes, epoxy flooring is used outdoors to protect concrete, resist stains, and handle foot traffic. It performs well—but only with UV-stable products and good installation so it doesn’t degrade fast.

It can, especially under strong sunlight, because standard epoxy is sensitive to UV light. Choosing UV-resistant coatings or a protective topcoat helps maintain color longer.

A glossy epoxy surface tends to be slick after rain or moisture. But adding non-slip texture or aggregates gives grip and improves safety.

When done correctly, proper prep, quality epoxy, protective UV top layer, it can last many years without major repair. Still, exposure to weather and wear requires occasional maintenance to keep it looking good.

Long curing times and sensitivity to sunlight are big concerns outdoors. Also, if the concrete substrate shifts or isn’t properly prepared, epoxy may crack, peel, or lose adhesion.
